Ningaloo Community Turtle Monitoring Program (NCTMP)

 

Volunteer Registration:

  • From September each year

Places Available:

  • 12 volunteer places

Season dates:

  • 12 December 2010 to 16 January 2011 (inclusive)

Duration:

  • Volunteers must commit to a 5 week period (including 1 weeks training)

Deposit:

  • $200 non-refundable deposit upon acceptance as a NTP volunteer to secure your position.*

Travel to Exmouth:

  • At volunteers’ own expense.

Accommodation:

  • Accommodation is provided on a rotation at DEC's exclusive research station and a remote camp both within the Cape Range National Park. Please note facilities are over 50km from the town of Exmouth and therefore quite a distance from shops etc. Volunteers will camp under the stars in tents and swags provided by NTP.

Food:

  • All meals and cooking equipment is provided for the duration of the program (5 weeks). If successful, please contact the NTP Coordinator with any specific dietary requirements prior to commencement of the program.

Transport within Ningaloo:

  • Transport is provided to and from monitoring locations and organised social events. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own car for easy access to facilities/locations outside of the monitoring program.

Costs:

  • Total cost of 5 week monitoring program is $1000.00 per participant *
